This year TOS KURIM company exhibited the Horizontal machining centre FOQ at the jubilee International engineering trade fair (MSV) and International trade fair of machine tools and forming machines (IMT) in Brno. Within the great competition of the machine-tool manufacturers all over the world, our exhibited machine won the Gold Medal IMT Brno 2008.

The FOQ 80 horizontal machining centre with a fixed frame was developed in TOS KURIM – OS,a.s. and is designed for high-performance machining of complicated shapes of large-size metal components requiring high-accuracy work in up to eleven axes, it is mostly intended for the manufacture of moulds, press dies and components for automotive, aircraft industries. The highly dynamic high-speed machining centre is of very rigid structure, is outstanding for its high-performance and machining accuracy, interchangeable spindle heads enable rough-tooling and finishing using progressive technologies and a wide range of operations can be done in a fenced large working area. Long-term experience is harnessed here, modern methods, original solutions and technologies are used in the machine, high-tech parameters of world-wide component manufacturers are applied, safety and environmentally friendly operation is safeguarded. The machining centre is supplied including optional accessories, tools and SW, equipment is delivered with debugged technology to suit customer’s workpieces, personnel training, technical support and service is provided for.

On March 4, 2011, signing the final documents completed the acquisition of Alta company concerning the purchase of Škoda Machine Tool (hereinafter referred to as ŠMT), which was owned from 2005 by the Russian company StankoImpex Group. Prior approval was obtained from the Office for the Protection of Competition.
