TOS KURIM – OS, a.s. – Tradition – Reliability - Innovation

Czech company TOS KURIM – OS, a.s., is a supplier of all-in machining solutions for customers involving plans, designs and supply of suitable machining centres including accessories, development of technologies according to customer-specific products and provision of comprehensive services. The company is globally accessible through its commercial and service network. 

The company’s production program is currently focused on gantry type machining centres with a table width of up to 6,000 mm and clearance between columns of up to 7,100 mm. These machines can be supplied with hydrostatic or linear guideways in all axes and the cross-rail can be either fixed or movable. Motor output ranges are between 30 kW and 100 kW.  Floor type machining centres offered by TOS KURIM have vertical travel of up to 6,000 mm and maximum motor output of 67 kW.

Both types of machines are equipped with automatically interchangeable milling heads (more than 30 different types of heads of own development). This range is being extended continuously based on the technological requirements of the customers. Applications of the machines are particularly in aircraft industry, heavy engineering, power engineering, arms industry, in production of heavy construction machines, mining machinery, shipbuilding and railway industry.

Since 2002 the gantry type machining centre with movable portal has been working in the important British company. The machine is used for machining of jet engines parts (fan cases).

In the years 2004 - 2006 TOS KURIM delivered several machines to the Russian company VSMPO, which supplies workpieces into the aerospace industry.  Airbus landing gears, for example, have been surfaced on these machines.
Company IAZ Irkutsk (Irkutsk Aviation Plant) is another Russian customer, which was in the years 2006 – 2007 supplied with more machines designed especially for machining of parts for the aerospace industry.
Also the company Hydromash Nizhny Novgorod has experience with the machining of titanium parts for the aerospace industry on the TOS KURIM machines.

Two highly productive and dynamic CNC machine tools for contouring were delivered to an important Canadian company at the end of 2008. The technology was adjusted for landing gear machining for Boeing airplanes. Forging (original weight of 400 kg) weighted after the final processing only 150 kg, which proves that the machine has fulfilled all the prescribed customer requirements for high-speed machining in the aerospace industry.

Last year two contracts for gantry type machines were signed with big Chinese companies supplying the aircraft industry – AVIC Xi´an Aircraft is a supplier of passenger planes and the TOS KURIM center will be designed for machining of titanium and steel sections. Airplane engines will be machined in the company Xi´an Aero-Engine.
